Sales pipeline

The visual flow showing which stage each opportunity has reached, from new enquiry to completion.

A pipeline lays out the stages every sales opportunity passes through. In an estate agency, typical stages are new enquiry, qualified, appointment, viewing or valuation, offer and closed.

Each opportunity is linked to a person and a property. Movement between stages shows the agency exactly where deals are being lost.

Why it matters for agencies

Without a pipeline, who is where depends on agents' memories. When someone leaves or the market gets busy, opportunities quietly disappear.

Example

When the voice agent books a valuation with a seller, the opportunity moves to the appointment stage automatically. After the valuation, the agent moves it to valuation done and a follow-up task is created for the instruction.
