GDPR
The EU's General Data Protection Regulation, which protects the personal data of people in the EU.
GDPR sets the rules for processing personal data in the European Union. The UK applies a closely aligned regime known as UK GDPR, alongside separate rules for electronic marketing.
Businesses outside the EU can fall within GDPR if they offer services to, or monitor the behaviour of, people in the EU. This definition is general information.
Why it matters for agencies
Agencies selling to international buyers, particularly from Europe, should consider GDPR obligations as well as local law when handling buyer data.
Example
A buyer from Germany fills in an English-language form about a listing in Antalya. The form includes a privacy notice explaining how the data will be used and a contact consent.
